AI Twins
In recent years technology has become so advanced that even Artificial intelligence has developed a twin that has quickly risen in popularity amongst various creative art fields.
In the last few posts, the concept of language models was introduced along with reflecting on how it’s used to develop an intelligent machine that can perform human like tasks such as learning, reasoning and making decisions. Therefore, it’s no surprise that another branch would be enhanced to dable into creative design.
First Born: AI
Let’s start with getting to know the eldest of the twins, traditional AI. It relies on computer systems such as agortihms and data to make autonomous decisions, thus resulting in being able to mimic human intelligence and perform tasks. Traditional AI is good at analyzing data, recognizing patterns, and making predictions.
An example of using traditional AI can be seen in fraud detection systems, such systems recognizes abnormal patterns as a means to identify fraud, once a suspicious act it detected the system takes actions by automatically locking to prevent theft.
Twin: Generative AI
Unlike traditional AI, Gen AI ( Generative AI ) focuses on creating new content such as images, text, video, audio and systematic data. While traditional AI is programmed with rules and algorithms to problem solve, Gen AI systems are trained in large datasets to identify patterns that leads to creating new creative content.
An example of how Gen AI is being used on a daily basis can be seen in playlist applications where music playlists include personalized technology to generate creatively customized playlists based on the listeners ideas or preferences.
As technology advances so will AI. But for noe, it appears to lack true understanding and common-sense reasoning, limiting it’s ability to handle ambiguous situations.
